Working principle of cv joint

Interaction between centrifugal force and inertial force
The working principle of ball cage is mainly based on the interaction between centrifugal force and inertial force. Ball cage is a physical experimental device, usually composed of multiple small balls placed in a spherical cage. When the ball cage is stationary, each small ball is evenly distributed in the cage due to the effect of gravity. However, when the ball cage starts to rotate, the centrifugal force will cause the small balls to move away from the axis because their inertia keeps them in a straight line. The small balls farther away from the axis are subject to greater centrifugal force and are therefore more likely to move to the outside of the cage, while the small balls closer to the axis are subject to less centrifugal force and move less. This effect causes the small balls to form layers in the cage, with heavier balls moving in the outer layer and lighter balls moving in the inner layer. ‌

The application of cv joint in automobile transmission system is mainly reflected in constant velocity joints. Constant velocity joints are a device that connects two shafts with an angle between them or a change in relative position, and enables the two shafts to transmit power at the same angular velocity. Constant velocity joints are widely used in automobile transmission systems. The main types include ball cage constant velocity joints and tripod constant velocity joints. The ball cage constant velocity joint consists of a sleeve, a three-way shaft, a transmission shaft, a star sleeve, a cage, a bell housing and other main parts. It is mainly used to transmit the power of the engine to the drive wheel.

The application of cv joint in physics is not limited to automobile transmission systems. It can also be used to simulate natural phenomena such as the earth's gravity and the centrifugal force given to objects. This working principle makes the ball cage play an important role in physics experiments, and it can study the motion laws of objects by simulating mechanical phenomena under different conditions.
