The structure of the half shaft

The half shaft is the shaft that transmits torque between the gearbox reducer and the drive wheel (mostly solid in the past, but because the rotational imbalance of hollow shafts is easier to control, many cars use hollow shafts). There is a universal joint (U/JOINT) on the inner and outer ends, which are connected to the reducer gear and the inner ring of the hub bearing through the splines on the universal joints.
The half shaft is used to transmit power between the differential and the drive wheel. The half shaft of the ordinary non-disconnecting drive axle can be divided into three types: full floating, 3/4 floating and semi-floating according to the different outer end support forms
The half shaft (Driver Shaft) is also called the drive shaft (CVJ, CV joint, constant velocity joint). It is the shaft that connects the differential and the drive wheel. The half shaft is the shaft that transmits torque between the gearbox reducer and the drive wheel.
