‌‌Maintenance Of The Ball Cage

Maintenance of the ball cage mainly includes the following aspects:

‌Check the dust cover: The dust cover of the ball cage is the key to protecting the internal parts of the ball cage from dust and impurities. If the dust cover is broken, dust will invade, causing wear of the sliding component, which may produce abnormal noise. In severe cases, it may affect the normal operation of the ball cage and even threaten driving safety. Therefore, regularly checking the integrity of the dust cover is an important step to extend the service life of the ball cage and ensure driving performance. ‌ ‌Avoid long-term wading: Long-term wading will cause water to enter the ball cage, affecting its normal operation. When wading, the small clamp of the dust cover may not be able to effectively prevent water, resulting in increased wear after water enters the ball cage. Therefore, avoiding long-term driving in water that exceeds the position of the ball cage is an important measure to protect the ball cage. ‌ ‌Regular maintenance: Regular maintenance of the ball cage, including cleaning and re-oiling, can extend its service life. Even if the dust cover is not damaged, it is recommended to clean and oil the ball cage every 4 years or 60,000 kilometers to ensure its normal operation. ‌ ‌ ‌Replacement of dust boots‌: When the dust boots of the ball cage are damaged, it is usually necessary to replace both dust boots to ensure that the ball cage is not affected by the external environment and extend its service life. Replacing the dust boots requires disassembling the entire assembly, including the inner and outer ball cage sections, and applying an appropriate amount of grease before reinstalling it‌
